A Thoughtful St Luke’s Day Worship with Father Martin

This week, Father Martin led our collective worship at St Luke's Church in honour of St Luke's Day, which is tomorrow. He shared with us a fascinating poster, over 100 years old, depicting St Luke.

We also explored several other images around the church that featured St Luke.

In these pictures, St Luke is shown holding a pen, symbolising his role as the author of one of the Gospels in the Bible. He is also remembered as a compassionate doctor who cared for the sick and the poor. Additionally, St Luke was a talented artist, with stories suggesting that he may have painted a portrait of Mary.

During our worship, we gave thanks for St Luke’s life and reflected on how we can draw inspiration from his example—caring for others and expressing creativity in our own ways. A big thank you to Father Martin for a beautiful and thoughtful service!
