Hooke Court '17
Hooke Court is located just 11 miles from the Jurassic Coast in the small village of Hooke in rural West Dorset. Hooke Court is a magnificent field study centre in which to stimulate and educate children.
Below are the daily blogs of the trip.
Wednesday 1 November
The children and staff left St Luke's this morning for the start of their residential trip to Hooke Court in Dorset. All the children were very excited to get away, looking forward to the many activities they will be experiencing at the centre.
The children arrived safely this afternoon and have begun some of the activities. More photos and updates will follow soon.
Thursday 2 November
The children slept really well last night and all fell asleep quickly. Prior to bed, the children and staff enjoyed a night walk around the site which was tiring and exciting. They also had lots of fun on the low ropes and orienteering.
The children enjoyed a large breakfast this morning and are looking forward to the activities for today. The children will be experiencing a Viking Day which includes lots of cooking and jewellery making.
Friday 3 November
It was hard work waking up the children this morning! It must have been all the excitement of yesterday's activities. The children were very busy preparing and cooking a fish and vegetable Viking soup with sweet and savoury bread. They enjoyed sampling their creations!
They then made and decorated clay pots, wattle and daubed a fence...with real poo! They finished the afternoon with making Viking jewellery. In the evening they all enjoyed listening to Viking folk legends in the woods.
The children are very much looking forward to returning home having enjoyed a wonderful experience.
