Over the last two weeks, Year 2 have been introduced to a new book ‘Pattan’s Pumpkin’. They have enjoyed writing descriptions of the Indian setting and they were in role as Pattan, the main character, writing a letter back to the children.

In science, Year 2 are learning about Charles Macintosh and his discovery of a waterproof material to make a coat. The children have looked at the timeline of a raincoat and the origin of waterproof materials including animal skins and oil. Soon the children will be conducting their own waterproof material investigation.

Yesterday the children enjoyed celebrating World Book Day. Part of the day including meeting with the Year 4 classes to share their favourite book and take turns reading with their buddy. The teachers were amazed with the variety and inventiveness of the costumes that the children wore.
