Monday 11 November
The children and staff left St Luke's this morning for the start of their residential trip to Sayers Croft. All the children were very excited to get away, looking forward to the many activities they will be experiencing at the centre. They arrived shortly after 11am and are unpacking before beginning their activities.
Tuesday 12 November
The children performed magnificently in making their beds yesterday when they arrived at Sayers Croft. It looks all very cosy in their accommodation rooms. After lunch (the food is great by the way) the children split into groups to enjoy their first activities. Dependent on groups, the children experienced bouldering, caving, archery, orienteering, the maze and a blind fold trial. After dinner the children and staff had lots of fun with a campfire complete with a singalong and marshmallows!
They were all tired after this so they went straight to bed with lights out and snoring heard at 9.20pm. They all look forward to the various activities planned for today.
Wednesday 13 November
Year 4 had a brilliant day yesterday with the activities they experienced. They found out more about Anglo-Saxons in a traditional Roundhouse where they had the chance to see (and put on) historical artefacts. This was followed by shelter building where not all of them passed the water test!
The evening walk was a nice way to spend the final evening, walking around the site looking at all the wildlife. The children had another good night - think they are all rather tired! They are looking forward to returning back to school today - estimated time of arrival is between 2.30pm and 2.45pm.
