During the summer term, Year 2 have covered many topics including plants, explorers, Nairobi vs Kingston Upon Thames and Judaism.
Year 2 were also lucky enough to attend a school trip to Painshill Park and the Stanley Picker art gallery. During the day at Painshill Park, the children acted as detectives and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the grounds of the park looking for a range of plants, trees and architecture. They were also given the task to create some artwork using only natural materials which turned out to be a great success.
In music lessons, the children have had the opportunity to learn to play the ocarina with Mrs Lowe. This proved difficult for some to begin with but with perseverance and weekly practise, all the children are now able to perform a variety of songs confidently.
Explorer's was the theme in History and the knowledge learnt was then shared with everyone during the fantastic class assembly.
After so many exciting learning opportunities, I would like to wish the children a restful summer holiday and the best of luck as they begin their KS2 journey at St Luke's.
