The whole of Year 5 have been practising their pieces for the production and all down the corridor the staff have musical earworms almost continuously. Not quite all the costumes have come in yet so can we ask that they are brought in as soon as possible please?
We have continued to study the geography and folk tales of Africa; did you know that Brer Rabbit originates in Central Africa? The children have been using their excellent research skills to make information posters about particular African countries.
An exciting development has been writing election pitches to be elected to the Pupil Parliament in Twickenham. Each class will elect 5 children and then from those 10 they will vote for 4. The children are speaking on the subject of voting age - some are for lowering it to 16, some are against it - the result of the vote will be in next week!
We had an amazing display of papier mache heads and poetry in the hall for our Open Afternoon- I hope some of you had a chance to pop in and take a look.
The week ended with a trip to the Rose Theatre to watch "Wild" the musical - the children were all very engaged with the music and dancing- hopefully this will have inspired them for their production next week.
