Excitement is in the air as the Year 6 children prepare for showtime this week! They have been working incredibly hard to perfect their performance and add the finishing touches to their production of ‘Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’. Each of them did themselves and us extremely proud during their dress rehearsal which was enjoyed by all the early years and key stage 1 children and staff. They look forward to performing to a bigger audience on Thursday and Friday!
Although the focus has been very much on the production, Year 6 have been enjoying reading ‘The Adventures of Odysseus’ in English to support their learning about Ancient Greece. They debated the character of Odysseus and discussed whether or not he has been a good leader to his men. Most children agreed that his character may be slightly flawed but that his good traits outweighed the bad.
The children have been putting their mathematical knowledge to good use by reviewing various concepts like fractions, measurement and shape. This revision will surely put them in good stead for secondary school. A quick mention to all of the children who received their much-awaited SATs results this week - very well done!
