What a busy couple of weeks it has been in Year 4!
Last week, we celebrated National Sports Week. Our chosen sport and Olympian were diving and Tom Daley. The children worked together to research information about diving as an Olympic event and the achievements of Tom Daley. Did you know Paris 2024 will be Tom Daley’s fifth Olympics? In keeping with the diving theme, for Arts Week this week the children have been using their computing skills to create some animation. At the start of the week the children were taught the skill of ‘onion skinning’ and were able to use that to create a diving animation at the end of the week.
Towards the end of National Sports Week, the children took part in Sports Day. It was brilliant to see the children participate in a whole range of events. As well as trying their best, they all showed super support and cheered on their peers.
In English, the children have been writing playscripts for the story ‘Egyptian Cinderella’. Before writing, the children spent some time acting out a couple of traditional tales using a script. This allowed them to experience the importance of scripts including features such as stage directions. The children carefully broke the story down into six scenes before they began their writing.
This week, we received the results of the MTC. The children should all be so pleased with their results. They all worked incredibly hard. Miss MacAuslan and Mrs Corlett are very proud of you!
