What a busy and exciting term we've had! In our Maths lessons, we've started learning about statistics. We've been using tally charts to count and organize data, and creating bar charts to show our results. We have learnt how to convert data and present it in these ways.
In English, we finished comparing two wonderful Kenyan stories: Mama Miti and Lila and the Secret of the Rain. We talked about the characters, the settings, and the important messages in both stories. It was amazing to learn about different cultures and the importance of trees and rain in Kenya.
In RE, we made the biggest Challah bread I’ve ever seen. Full loaves of this special braided Jewish bread were lovingly made by each Year 2 child. The rest of the school was envious of us when we came out with freshly baked Challah!
Our Science lessons have been very hands-on. We've each planted our own sunflower seeds and are making sure they have everything they need to grow – sunlight, water, soil, and air. But there’s a twist! Each table has one sunflower with a variable missing, such as no water or no sunlight. This will help us understand what plants need to be healthy and strong.
