Blog for Friday 4th October 2024

Thank you to all of the parents who were able to join us for our first coffee morning yesterday. It was so lovely getting to know you better and chatting about your fabulous children. We hope that you also enjoyed it and were able to meet some other parents too.

In Nursery we have been thinking about the people who help us, in particular at school we have had some special visitors in class. We enjoyed visits from Mr Dutton, Hannah, Lin and Colin who all kindly gave up some of their time to tell us about their role in school and how they help the nursery children. Later in the day we carefully drew portraits of our special visitors. We also discussed how the children can help each other too! Next week we are looking forward to learning more about people who help us in the community and we are anticipating an exciting visit from the Kingston firefighters.

As part of our daily phonics session we have continued to build on our repertoire of nursery rhymes, this week we have been performing ‘the wheels on the bus…’ This has led to large bus constructions and role play as well as rolling the dice and counting the passengers on and off the bus. Our focus rhyme for next week will be ‘Miss Molly had a dolly’ and we will also be practising our song for the harvest festival.
