Hindleap Warren 5ET Sept '15
Monday 21st September
The children left the school feeling very excited about their residential trip to Hindleap Warren. They left (nearly) on time. Have a lovely week!
The children have really enjoyed their first day. They have already completed a few activities and thought they were great...wet but great!
Tuesday 22nd September
Children (and staff) have had a good night's sleep and are excited about today's activities.
The rain in the night was torrential, so lots of mud expected today! Children have various activities planned today including archery, high adventure, teams challenge, pool canoeing, and will end the day with a class swim.
Wednesday 23rd September
The children have woken up this morning feeling totally refreshed and also to a beautiful, bright and sunny day! What a transformation from yesterday's weather. After the class swim last night, lots of children fell asleep as soon as their heads hit their pillows and a few children even had to be woken up this morning. The children have enjoyed their food this week and have loved the croissants and pain au chocolat this morning! Mrs Thompson is on the train winging her way to Hindleap Warren and will join up with the group today.
Whilst it is a lovely looking day, there is still a lot of mud to enjoy and they have a whole class activity of orinenteering to experience this morning held in the forest. In the afternoon, the children will be splitting into their groups and have a few different activities including zip wire and high adventure (leap of faith).
Thursday 24th September
The children slept well again last night having participated in the talent show in the evening. There were many different acts performed to all including a recital of poetry, the telling of jokes, a gymnastics routine, a football performance, a cabaret presentation and many more... 'It was a hoot!'
The children have lots to look forward to today including zip wire and high adventure in the morning and forest adventure in the afternoon. They have experienced a lot of rain this morning so there may be a few muddy clothes coming home for washing.
Tonight's adventure (and challenge) will be to pack belongings back into their bags. I hope they have practised at home!
Friday 25th September
With sadness, the children all packed their bags last night. Parents will be pleased to hear that all the clothes (muddy clothes and all) will be returning with the children. The scheduled arrival time is 11.00am at the front of the school and any change to this time we will broadcast through ParentMail.
