Friday 19 July
Year 2 have been reflecting upon how much they have changed and grown over the last year. The children have become much more resilient and independent. This was evident on our outdoor learning day at Alice Holt.
They have loved exploring Judaism and can retell interesting facts about the faith, as well as describe and name many of the holy objects. The highlight of the topic was making challah bread from scratch and then discovering how tasty it was!
Creating covers for the Torah scrolls uncovered some hidden sewing skills. The children have gone on to make bookmarks under the watchful eye of Mrs Bamber, our resident expert.
This term the children have been very enthusiastic about our history topics.
During Arts Week, they designed and made colourful houses, exploring the nation and culture of South Africa together. Moving a little closer to home, Year 2 have been researching Kingston past and present.
They are definitely ready to continue their exciting learning adventure into key stage two next year.
