On Thursday, our nursery marked the Lunar New Year with a delightful banquet that was both colourful and enriching.
All children and staff donned red or traditional attire, creating a festive atmosphere. The children were curious and sampled dishes such as rice noodles, egg fried rice, vegetable spring rolls, vegetable dumplings and prawn crackers, discovering new flavours and textures along the way. They also practised their fine motor skills by learning to pick up the noodles and rice, making fantastic efforts.
After enjoying the delicious food, the children joined in a lively class dance. The previous day, we had crafted a lion head from a large box and at the banquet children danced to traditional Chinese music while some played tambourines and bells to enhance the party.
Many thanks for your contributions which allowed us to offer this memorable experience and complete our fortnight of learning.
